Choice to Live With

Is this website pro-life or pro-choice?

This website is neither pro-life nor pro-choice. This website is pro-woman, and we believe that it takes a little of each side of the argument to be of service to women in unplanned pregnancies.  We do not take a political stance on the abortion issue. Our goal is to discover what the feelings and beliefs are about each woman's pregnancy and help her make a choice that she can live with - not one that we can live with.

How do I do an herbal abortion?

Unfortunately, we cannot give you information on how to do an herbal abortion. We do not want to be held responsible for any harm that may come to you this way.  Herbal abortions are only minimally effective before your period is even due.  Once you are late, an herbal abortion will not work.  The doses that are required before your period is due are quite large, and they cause an abortion by making you incredibly unhealthy - too unhealthy to support a growing baby.  If you are interested in learning more about an herbal abortion, please contact your doctor or a certified herbalist.  If you would like to talk about the abortion decision and get some emotional support for yourself as you go through this, please contact us, but our volunteers will be unable to give directions on how to perform an herbal abortion. For more information on herbal abortions, click here.

Where can I go to get an abortion?

Unfortunatetly, we are unable to refer you to an abortion provider. We only refer women to nonprofit agencies and organizations (those that do not receive payment for services).  These include pregnancy centers, charities, adoption agencies, and government programs.  You can consult your physician or gynecologist for a referral to an abortion clinic.

What does being pro-woman mean?

Being pro-woman means that we believe women deserve to have unconditional support and help while facing an unplanned pregnancy. We believe women have the ability and the desire to make a choice that will make them happy. We believe that women need to have all the information available to them in order to make an informed decision that is based on facts rather than pure emotion. We believe that women should never be forced or even pushed toward a choice that would not be made otherwise. We believe that by helping women first, we are helping their families and their future.

How can you be neutral?

We strive to be pro-woman in all the content that is put on the site. Putting the woman first enables us to speak about all options in a factual, unbiased way. Hiding facts and avoiding issues does not make a choice go away - it only adds confusion and could possibly result in a woman making an uninformed decision. We regularly compare the content on Choice to Live With to pro-life and pro-choice websites in order to ensure an unbiased approach. We also use our visitors' opinions and advice through our contact us page.

What qualifies you to build this site?

A concern for women, a desire to help, an interest in medical facts, and the researching skills to find answers. None of the volunteers are required to have a degree in social work, counseling, or medicine, but some of us have gone through various volunteer training programs.

Who are you affiliated with?

We are not affiliated with any organization, group, or political party. We are not endorsed by any organization, nor are we involved in political activism. We are led by Christian values that simply teach us to love others and assist those in need.

Why do you use the term "baby" throughout the site?

We use the term "baby" and "developing human" to avoid confusion and to create one-term-fits-all words that can be used throughout the site - in both medical text and nonmedical text. This is not done to distort truth, hide facts, or limit a woman's right to choose.

Why is so much of the site incomplete?

The site is still under development.  Some options have been more thoroughly covered than others.  We are working hard to complete the information on the site, but the demand for one-on-one contact has made the process slower than what we were prepared for.

What are the plans for this website?

  • Abortion information including procedures, complications, laws,  and experiences.

  • Adoption information including laws, definitions, procedures, and choices.

  • Parenting information including developmental milestones, newborn care, and concerns.

  • Pregnancy information including information on prenatal care and labor and childbirth.

  • Information and help for those with emotional difficulties after an abortion, as well as an online support group.

  • Extensive prenatal development information with diagrams, pictures, and ultrasounds along with a detailed description of each week of development.

  • Resources for women who need financial, material, or emotional support. This will be offered by state at first but will branch out to other countries eventually.

  • Religious perspectives on abortion and life before birth.

  • Poor-prenatal diagnoses and high-risk pregnancy information.

  • Stress relieving items such as games and encouraging stories for women who need to take a break.

  • Sections specifically for men, parents, and friends who might be exerting pressure or researching options.

  • A section for pregnant teenagers.

  • A section on birth control and female fertility.

  • Much, much more!  If you have a suggestion, please contact us with it!

Why don't you use graphic pictures?

While we do not want to discourage a woman from finding all the relevant information she needs to make an informed choice, we believe that simply having these pictures on this site would make women feel uncomfortable here. These pictures are not for everyone, but some women do benefit from seeing them.  If you would like to be directed to pictures of aborted fetuses, please email us and we can provide you with information and links.

Why don't you link to other sites?

Choice to Live With is trying to build its own pool of information instead of linking here, there, and everywhere.  Also, by writing original content, we have control over what can be shown and presented and can be sure of neutrality and accuracy.

Will you link to my site?

If you are a charity, pregnancy center, adoption agency, or other organization that does not charge money for services, contact us with your information, and we'll list you on our state resource pages. Thanks!

Can I reprint information from your website for my center?

Please send us an email letting us know you will be doing so. You'll also need to put the site's address (www.choicetolivewith.com) somewhere on each printed page (as a header or footer). You can also receive business cards to hand out to your clients free of charge. If you'd like these, let us know in your email.
